Corrosion-resistant PTFE coatings or paints are used to protect metal components from corrosion due to environmental conditions such as moisture and salt. And in more arduous environments where industrial chemicals or agents are present. We provide can provide you with anti-corrosion paints to help increase the lifespan of your equipment.
Anti-corrosion coatings act simply as a barrier between the corrosive material and the metal being protected – just like paint.
Achieving a longer lifespan
In order to ensure a high-quality coating and ensure the optimal lifespan of the PTFE coating, correct surface preparation and pre-treatment is vital. New state-of-the-art equipment and process control ensure that optimal surface preparation is achieved to suit the selected coating system.
However, many coatings have an added anti-corrosive property which then ensures the maximum possible lifespan of expensive metallic components running in harsh or chemically extreme applications.
If and when the coating does reach the end of its lifespan, the metallic component can simply be returned to AFT Fluorotec where we can refurbish the coating avoiding the need for expensive component replacement.
Preparing for success
Our grit/shot blast cleaning services prepare the surface prior to coating application and the right choice of media helps provide the best blast cleaning before application of the protective PTFE coating.
The profile of the metal surface is carefully controlled to ensure maximum adhesion of the coating system. Our blast cleaning services meet with Swedish standards SA2.5 and SA3.
Listed below are some of the materials we use when blast cleaning:
- Aluminium Oxide
- Chilled Iron
- Steel Grit
- Glass Bead
